Tukufako
Program
We Care for Vulnerable Children
Tukufako means We Care in Luganda. This program supports vulnerable children living in Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Uganda, giving them a safe place to learn, play, eat, and feel supported.
What We Provide
Six pillars of care for every child
Every child in the program receives support across education, creativity, health, and wellbeing. Real care means meeting the whole child.
Education
We support children to attend school and continue learning. Education gives them a chance to build a better future.
Arts
Creative activities allow children to express themselves, discover their talents, and find joy in their own voices.
Sports
Football and other games help children stay healthy, build friendships, and develop teamwork skills that last a lifetime.
Daily Meal
Many children face hunger every day. The program provides at least one healthy meal to every child, every day.
Basic First Aid
Children receive basic first aid support to protect their health and prevent common illnesses from getting worse.
Safe Space
Most important of all, a place where children feel protected, cared for, and respected. A place they can simply be children.
How Children Are Selected
A careful, fair process
We follow five steps to make sure support reaches the children who need it most, with care and full verification at every stage.
First Assessment
The team identifies highly vulnerable children, including orphans or those in very difficult situations.
Second Assessment
Information is verified to confirm the child's real situation and needs.
Home Visit
The team visits the child's home to see and understand their living conditions directly.
Approval
Once approved, the child is placed on a waiting list until a sponsor becomes available.
Sponsorship
The child is matched with a sponsor and officially enrolled in the program.

Why This Program Matters
Every child deserves to grow with hope
Many children in Nakivale grow up without basic support. Some are orphans, others live in very difficult conditions. The Tukufako Program changes that.
The Tukufako Program helps children grow and build hope for their future. It is run by New Talent for the Best Future to make sure vulnerable children receive care, education, and the chance to build something better.
How You Can Help
You can sponsor a child living in Nakivale
